Shame. Discouragement. Fear. Have we found ourselves dwelling on what we cannot do and not on what God can do? Have we thought too much about our failures and not about God’s purpose? When we focus on our helplessness instead of God’s hopefulness, we fail to see that He uses the foolish things of the world to shame the wise and the weak to shame the strong. We carry with us stories of guilt, stories of shame, stories of defeat. But for the redeemed of God lovingly washed in the blood of Christ, we have yet another story—a story of grace.
